 :artlink.

The :artlink tag defines a link-definition file for hypergraphic links. A
hypergraphic is a bitmap that is linked to a section, footnote, spot,
another program, or an application message. By choosing the hypergraphic,
the user can cause the referenced section, footnote, or spot to appear on
the display, start the referenced program, or send a message to the
application. The user chooses a hypergraphic by clicking it with the mouse
or by selecting it with the TAB key and pressing the ENTER key.

This tag does not use parameters.

Comments

The :artlink tag is valid only when used with the :artwork tag to describe
the graphic links identified in the link-definition file. The :linkfile
parameter of the :artwork tag must be used to identify the link-definition
file.

The :artlink tag must be the first tag in the link-definition file. One or
more :link tags must be used within the file to specify the hypergraphic
links between a bitmap and a section, footnote, spot, program, or
application message. The :elink tag is not required. The :eartlink tag
indicates the end of the link-definition file.

When defining a link from a whole bitmap, use one :link tag. Values
identifying the link location of the hypergraphic area are not required.
When linking from a segmented bitmap, use :link tags to identify each
segment of the bitmap. Each segment is identified by using the x, y, cx, and
cy parameters with each link tag.

Example

This example shows a hypergraphic link from a whole bitmap. The name of the
file containing the bitmap is whbfile.bmp. The link-definition file is
called whflink.art.

    :artwork name='whbfile.bmp' linkfile='whflink.art'.

The following information is placed in the link-definition file:

    :artlink.
    :link refid=fmt321 reftype=hd.
    :eartlink.

This example shows hypergraphic links from a segmented bitmap. The name of
the file containing the segmented bitmap is show2.bmp. The link-definition
file is called link.dat.

    :artwork name='show2.bmp' linkfile='link.dat'.

The following information is placed in the link-definition file:

    :artlink.
    :link reftype=hd res=001 x=0 y=0 cx=16 cy=8.
    :link reftype=fn refid=afnr x=16 y=8 cx=16 cy=8.
    :link reftype=inform res=0345 x=0 y=8 cx=16 cy=8.
    :link reftype=launch object='c:\os2\e.exe' data='c:\appsdir\tutor.dat'
            x=16 y=0 cx=16 cy=8.
    :eartlink.
