FREEFILE Function Programming Example
 
The example below uses FREEFILE to obtain a file number for
opening a file:
 
INPUT "Enter file name ", Filename$
Filenum = FREEFILE
OPEN Filename$ FOR OUTPUT AS Filenum
PRINT Filename$;" opened as File #"; Filenum
